Tiny tools that let you talk to the birds.
If you want to communicate with our fine feathered friends, you’ll need patience, passion – and the right vocabulary. A small workshop in France can help you on your way. For 25 years, they’ve been designing and lovingly handcrafting bird calls for birds of the region. Meticulously hand-made by craftsmen, each unique whistle undergoes a lengthy journey before it can play the songs of nature. The wood alone has to be cured for five years before it can be worked. These one-of-a-kind instruments are carved from hawthorn, maple or beech wood and – depending on the call of the bird in question – enhanced with brass, leather and rubber. This process produces an elegant, tone-perfect masterpiece that lets you imitate bird voices convincingly.
Just like any foreign language, practice is needed to develop a feeling for the rhythm of the bird calls. If you really want to become a bird whisperer, you must listen carefully and imitate the calls precisely. But most importantly, you should have fun enjoying your love of nature and fulfilling your desire to get closer to these fascinating creatures.
The unique bird calls come in a handmade wooden storage box divided into sections for each whistle. On the bottom of each section you’ll find a drawing of the bird and its name to help you keep track of your whistles. Every set of whistles comes with instructions in German .
The bird whistles are suitable for adults and school-aged children.
